i feel a whole lot brighter today, they discharged my mum today but we somehow have to find that winning formular of getting her appetite back or she really will fade away. I cannot thank the NHS enough, they have been fantastic, from my mum being admitted to her being allowed home they have been brilliant. So i have finally had time to look in on LJ and give a quick update.

That's good to hear. Do you know something of the food your mum loved when she was a child? Maybe she would eat that. My mum for example loved pancakes with blueberrys when she was a child and she loved them in hospital and that was the only thing she ate for some days. So maybe that would be a possibility.

And thank you for the lovely smile you share with us. :-)

My mum has had a problem called "reflux* were your food does not stay down so she now has to eat more softer foods. We have to speak with her doctor to see what they recommend but that is a good idea, thankyou.

Glad that you like a smiling Lewis, he cheers me up every time.

Glad

A friend of mine has also problems with "reflux" and she has had good success with bananas and ginger tea. And she can eat grapes and melon.

I hope your mum will feel better soon. :-)

Glad to hear your mum is home. I've had good luck myself with macklingirl's advice - ginger tea works well. Best wishes!

I'm in catch-up mode at the moment, so I've only just seen the news about your mum! So sorry she's been unwell! I hope each day brings some improvement, so that you can both regain some peace of mind.

thankyou, she does seem to be a bit brighter in herself but the eating and drinking will have to be put to her gradually. It's lovely to talk to you.

Thankyou.

thankyou so much, she is a lot brighter than she was last week, i think the key is going to be little and often as far as her eating is concerned and i am forever behind her with a glass of water. We will get there.

cheers.

Glad your mum is doing better! Non-hallucinogenic marijuana drops (CBD oil) would help with the appetite. :) It's safe and not habit forming.

Glad that your mum is home and I hope that she's feeling better and better as the days go by. And that's a lovely picture of our Lew. I just love imagining our lads as older and still together.

Am very relieved at the news (Lew looks happier too 😉) and hope something can be found to help your mum's appetite back. It's also good news when we hear the NHS still works well, despite cuts, staff shortages and other nasty bits such as privatisation through the back door with private contractors allowed to win contracts to provide certain services... :(

thankyou so much, yes being home is certainly making her seem brighter though the staff were wonderful even though they work long hours, they always had my mums best interest at heart.

I love this pic of Lewis, he seems so relaxed and happy, he always cheers me up.
