It's interesting, isn't it... I wonder if there's any connection with lads these days having grown up using moisturisers and other skin-care products as well, that they just didn't back then - maybe they really do work, to some extent! Even stage make-up remover was probably still your basic cold cream back then, I think... all just verging on changing (my ex was experimenting with nicking my moisturiser, and guys were buying their own chapstick, but the BodyShop had only just released a men's range in the mid-1980s), but our lads were already our lads... *g*
Oh, mind you - people were alot more outdoors back then too, and growing up as kids as well. Come to think of it, I bet that had a big effect. People weathered more back then... *g*
I miss that natural beauty too - people look so slick in current shows, it's almost scary...

That has to be part of it. Sunscreen wasn't worn as much either. Ah yes, 'slick' is the effect I was trying to describe. ..To me it leaves less to appreciate. One of the things I love about the lads is that they have so many 'appearances' across the episodes.
