I *do* like our boy in leather. I wonder how many leather jackets he owned?

Yes me too, whenever I think of Bodie I just automatically think of him in a leather jacket . I bet he owned quite a few, my favourite is the black leather one he wore in the episode "fugitive" ..yum x

Yes, I like that one, is it the same one he wore in the episode with the character of 'Frances' (A hiding to nothing or Dead Reckoning? I always mix those two). He's also got a very nice chocolate brown jacket, too. I feel a Visions post coming on......boys in leathers!

The vegetarian in me wonders (a) where in his vegetarian journey MS was and whether he was okay with it (I'd rather not take a job than wear a leather jacket); and (b) how many cows "Doyle" and "Bodie" killed between them, just to look cool (or hot, I suppose, but I can't judge "hot").

There's a very nice fic which involves the boys on motorbikes. Hmm, which is it? Must go and find it. Never Let Me Down, perhaps? Or is it something by PR Zed? (Not remotely related, I know!)

Oh, I don't know that fic! I don't think it's Shoshanna's though I could be wrong. Rough Ride? I can't find many quotes at all about them actually wearing leather apart from something by Dee, but maybe pictures will be enough?!

I'm thinking that they take the bikes out on a ride because Bodie wants to talk and Doyle says something about 'Don't think talking's been doing us much good' - in fact, yes, as I type this, it's starting to come back. Let me just go and dig... aha! Towards the start of chapter 4.

Chapter 4: Doyle arrived, and his partner didn't seem to notice anything odd, only chivvied him onto his bike and led the way out of the city on the A20. Bodie stared at Doyle's back in front of him, anonymous like himself in riding gear and helmet, and tried to lose himself in the roar of the bike under him and the wind harsh in his ears. He couldn't. The bike throbbed between his legs.

I know I have read more about them on their bikes. And ooh! Isn't there a zine called Leather and Blue Jeans, with a cover of them both in leather, and every story in it references the cover picture? Lovely DVS story in there, Precisely When.

And I think Doyle may wear leather jackets quite often in HG's Rainbow Chasers. I always think of him that way, at least... Or am I thinking of the business in Jigsaw Puzzle where Bodie buys Doyle a clapped-out Norton to restore?

Hey, I totally don't want to take over your theme, but if I think of more, I am happy to let you know - I like the lads in leather. Very very much. But I think much of the fun for you is findin the fics yourself, no?

Oh god, Blackbird's BDSM one, *thud*, that's definitely leather, but I will be very very surprised if anyone can find an image of Doyle in *those* clothes!

Okay, I really really will stop now. Er. For a bit! But I shall add a useful lubrication icon for all that bike work :)

Thank you so much for all these ideas! Of course anything I use I'll credit to you, but you're right about the DVS story, that's the one I thought was by Dee. And I should have known the Shoshanna story because it's one I've loved in the past. There's also mention of leather in Jane's Nothing left to lose and Morgan Dawn's Between Dreams. Getting pictures of the boys in leather is no problem but I think finding enough quotes which include a mention of leather will be, but that's OK, I'll just use quotes which suit the image, regardless of any mention of leather. Thanks so much for your help and if you remember any more examples I'd love to hear of them!

I forgot to answer too! There's one with Bodie tinkering with a bike. It's well-written, but it is a death-fic, which is revealed in the final lines. It's called 'Finished Business', and it's by Anne Carr: http://hatstand.slashcity.net/carr/finished.html

And I have just read it, and although it's all about repairing a bike, there not a mention of leather, so I didn't need to mention it at all! Not for anything to do with leather!

I do not at all wish to deny you the pleasure of research, and I am genuinely going to sto pnow, but I just went through all the tabs open in my browser and found leather mentions in
'Surrender and Return Match' - heliophile_oxon (' the two leather belts Ray had thoughtfully provided to tether his wrists comfortably to the bedstead at each corner.' - okay possibly not easy to illustrate :))
'Because the Night' - garonne ('Doyle closed his eyes, and breathed in Bodie's smell: leather jacket, sweat and exhaustion.')
'Action of the Tiger' - EPS ('He reached into the pocket of his most disreputable leather jacket. "I've written out a formal request..."')
and have confirmed that I have them both in leather in 'Cities Crumble' and 'Raid' - what can I say, it works for me :)

There was a discussion a while ago about the boys and leather gloves (I think) which made me think of the scene in Backtrack where they're dressing up for a bit of B & E in Marge's house....that might be an idea, too.
