Attending a service of rememberance this morning at our local cenotaph, i was greeted by the vicar handing out the service sheets. Stood at the side on the grass verge i suddenly saw her approaching. "OH MY GOODNESS i just love your jumper " she said . "Thankyou" to which she is pointing at Bodie and Doyle. "Which one is your favourite"
"Bodie, it always has been", "oh you can keep him" she said "oh my , give me Martin Shaw any day, what an actor" and after 10 minutes of drooling and lots of oh my's and as much as i would like to continue this conversation the service was about to start.

It's fun wearing Pros items in the UK because everybody knows why they are. Here, not so much. That's a super meeting!

Wearing a hooded top with Bodie and Doyle on it has started many a conversation . The vicar at this service certainly had much to say about Martin *g*

Thankyou.

That just cracked me up! Definitely one of those, 'When-you-know... you-know' conversations. People that get it get it soooo well. People that don't get it... they're never gonna get it.

The vicar definitely got it especially when it came to talking about Martin Shaw, i would love to have turned the conversation in Lew's direction but i'm afraid Martin was the hot topic until i had to remind her that the service was due to start soon.

Thankyou.

Ha ha.....the vicar was certainly having a good time that's for sure. I'm afraid poor Lewis didn't get a look in, it was a one way conversation *g*

Thankyou.

It's amazing how Bodie and Doyle get mentioned by the most unlikely people. I had an electrician here recently and when he saw one of my posters of B and D he said he was a fan of the series, mainly because of the Capris. He was a Capri owner himself. I'm sure he wasn't born when the series was first shown! I also had a chat about various episodes when a BT engineer came to do the broadband - he too saw the posters on my walls and admitted to being a Professionals fan. Knew all about Bob Rocca's book.

Just by wearing a Bodie and Doyle hoodie has sparked many conversations from the vicar at the rememberance service to being served in the supermarket. It is such an iconic show that everyone seems to want to talk about it.

Thankyou.

It seems it was a nice situation. It reminds me of a situation a few years ago when I walked the street wearing one of the karate t-shirts we got as a present when we did karate camp. I walked the street and a young man looked at me, opened his jacket and said "Oh, you too." We laughed because we only knew each other wearing a white karate gi. *g*

Yes it was lovely to talk about Martin especially to a vicar though i would prefer to talk about Lewis and how cool was your situation. Thankyou for letting me know (and i'm so pleaased that you can now comment)
