Why do i still love them

Yesterday i went to physio and while having the physio on my knee i happened to be wearing a Professionals hooded top, there was only one place this conversation was going and we spent most of the session talking about Bodie and Doyle. At the end he asked me a question and i had to think before i replied with my answer. He asked " why i still enjoyed this show so much and what was it that has kept me loving The Professionals for so many years. " "The action" "the stories" but most of all "the chemistry between Bodie and Doyle" and finally because i just love it and always will and never forgetting my love of my favourite, Bodie which has always stood solid throughout So i was wondering if it's the same for you , is that why you love The Professionals so much.

Great question! For me, first is the chemistry between the lads. Then my 'shallower' side will admit that it is because they are both so nice to look at!
The show is good - not always the best or most believable plots, but Bodie and Doyle are why I like the show after all this time :-)

Thankyou for replying, i must admit to loving the plots though one or two i would say are not as good as others but if the lads are involved then i can still admire them and yes the lads (looking good) make this the best show ever.

That's exactly the same reason here. And because I am late to the fandom-party I still have a lot of good stories to enjoy and to discover new perspectives of our lads. I wished I would have found fandom much earlier......

Thankyou for your reply and telling me what it is that you love so much about The Professionals, it's never too late to join in the fandom, which gives you all that extra time to discover the things you haven't had a chance to yet, like new stories to read or that extra artwork that you haven't come across yet.

I came into Pros in the mid 2000s and my interest has only grown. They're interesting and dynamic characters, with many layers. The series ranges from excellent to drek, which actually leaves a lot of room for fanfic, both writing it still today and lots of great reading. The main reason is the lads, who are handsome, smart, dangerous, and most of all, belong together in all things.

I think there is so much more to the characters than just CI5 agents , i love most of the plots but one or two not so much , like you say that leaves a lot of scope for fanfic to be written and read. I love the bond between the lads and most of all i love my Bodie.

I’m the show, the prettiness and watching it first time around when I was a teen. From there, I wrapped friendship, escapism, nostalgia, affection around the show. And it’s fun!
