I was going to allow the reader to decide the outcome but i did manage to write a conclusion to this story, again i hope that you like it and thankyou in advance.

It Was Now Absolute

Bodie sat in the courtroom, his hands clasped tightly together, his eyes fixed firmly on the judge. He felt a cold sweat appear on his forehead, his heart pounding in his chest. He knew he was innocent but he also knew that the evidence against him was strong. He felt a sense of betrayal, former mercenary comrades who had testified against him in the hope of immunity, he suddenly felt alone, now set to face a life sentence if found guilty.

He once again glanced up at the public gallery where Doyle sat patiently. Doyle who had been his friend for years. He had stood by him throughout this trial, despite the risk to his own reputation.Doyle also knew there was more to this, hidden beneath the surface. He had watched as Bodie had stood tall, giving his evidence and now their eyes met and in that fleeting moment Doyle offered a reassuring smile.

Taking a deep breath, Doyle's mind wandered back to their days as partners, fighting side by side. Bodie had been fiercely loyal, one who always had Doyle's back. Their friendship had been forged through fire and blood, Doyle couldn't accept that Bodie could ever be guilty of the crimes he was accused of. He believed in his friend's integrity, convinced that there was a deeper truth that needed to be uncovered. From that moment when their eyes locked, it was them together, Doyle looked tired but hopeful and determined.

The judge's voice piereced the courtroom demanding attention. The moment of truth had arrived. Bodie's heart skipped a beat as his friends strained to hear the verdict that would seal Bodie's fate.

"Do you find the defendant, William Bodie, guilty or not guilty".

Doyle's breath caught in his throat, his grip tightening on the glass partition that stood between him and his friend. He barely noticed the tension in his hands as he pressed them against it's surface, seeking solace in the touch. "You'll be fine, mate" he whispered, his voice barely audible in the courtroom.

Time seemed to stretch, a thunderous silence falling over the room as all eyes were trained on the judge. Doyle's heart pounded, hope teetering on the edge of despair.

Then, in a voice that cut through the air, the jury spokesman proclaimed "not guilty".

Bodies's expression transformed, an impossibly bright smile illuminating his features. Their eyes met once more through the glass and the connection between them was tangible, a silent acknowledgement of the support they had always provided one another.

Doyle's hand remained on the glass, as if that touch could bridge the divide between them. He marveled at the resilience of his friend, his unwavering spirit that had carried him through this challenge.

As Bodie was led out of the courtroom, a free man once more, Doyle couldn't help but feel a renewed sense of hope, of justice restored.Doyle's hand slipped from the cool glass, he again whispered his thanks and felt a huge sigh of relief overtake him.

Outside Bodie felt a hand on his shoulder, patting him gently. It was one of the guards who was congratulating him on his acquittal. Bodie thanked him politely but he didn't care about anyone else right now. All he cared about was Doyle. He bounded down the steps and couldn't help but give Bodie a friendly hug.

As the partners walked side by side away from the courtroom, Bodie couldn't help but glance back as his past faded away into the distance.

The end.

Pros lib...yes please.
